About Lindsay May
Lindsay May is a Canadian singer-songwriter based in British Columbia. With a voice often placed beside k.d. lang, Kathleen Edwards, and Lucinda Williams, she writes silken alt-country and blues-soaked songs that hold place, grit, and heart — usually with acoustic guitar and mandolin in hand.
From Interior BC, Lindsay has released five albums, including Bronze & Blue, Shimmer (Grade A−, The Vancouver Province), Girl with Grit, Acoustic 4.0, and the Creative BC–supported Christmas album Sweet Cinnamon. Debut Bronze & Blue was recorded in Kelowna with Mike Ohman and Steve Todd. Shimmer and Girl with Grit were recorded at Vancouver’s Nimbus Studio.
She was a Kerrville New Folk Finalist (2012), has showcased at NERFA, and has opened for Valdy, Shari Ulrich, and John Gorka. Other credits include Harmony Arts Festival, Vancouver’s Motown Meltdown at the Commodore Ballroom, Rocking River Festival, Sasquatch Gathering, and VIA Rail onboard performances. She has toured North America twice and Europe four times — solo.
This fall she relaunches with new music: Solstice Night (November 13, 2026), a new Christmas offering to sit beside Sweet Cinnamon. 2027 will see the release of a new EP.
When she isn’t on the songwriter stage, you may also find her with her country-rock band The Mayhem, or lending vocals to the funk project Majesty — same voice, different rooms.
